What are PC Optimum points?
PC points is a rewards program by Loblaws. You earn PC points by shopping at Loblaws if you are a PC Optimum member. It is also possible to earn points by shopping anywhere if you are a PC Financial Mastercard holder. PC points can be used to pay for groceries, clothing, gas for your car, or anything that is sold in Loblaws.
Where to earn PC Optimum points?
You can earn PC Optimum points every time you shop at Loblaws and it’s chain of supermarkets (Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, The Independent Grocer, Fortinos, Zehrs, Valu-Mart, Wholesale Club, Atlantic Superstore, Independent City Market, Wholesale Club, Dominion, Maxi), Pharmacies (Shoppers Drug Mart, and Pharmaprix), Gas Stations (Esso & Mobil), and Joe Fresh.
How to become a PC Optimum member?
You can easily become a member by visiting any of these stores and picking up a card. Alternatively, you can download PC Optimum App from Apple Store or Google Play. Another great benefit of using the app is that you don’t need to carry the card, simply scan the app at the checkout. Also, the app will also show offers to earn additional points on products that are on promotion. This way you won’t miss out on opportunities to earn additional points.
What are PC Optimum points worth?
It is easy to calculate the monetary value of PC points as 1,000 points are worth $1. Points can only be redeemed once you have at least 20,000 points. Once you have 20,000 points you can use $20 towards groceries, gas, or any other purchases at participating stores.
PC Financial Mastercard
There are three tiers of PC Financial Mastercard (Basic, World, and Elite). You earn more points per $1 spent as you move up the tiers. With an Elite credit card you can earn 3% when shopping at Loblaws and its chains. One of the amazing benefits of having a PC Financial Mastercard is that you earn points for anything you charge to the credit card.
Shoppers Drug Mart
Shoppers Drug Mart is a great place to earn PC points. They usually have amazing opportunities to earn points, for example, there are 20X points days when you earn 20X the points you would earn without the promotion. Regularly check their flyer’s and you are bound to find deals on earning more points.
Shoppers Drug Mart also has great offers on redeeming your points. You may get $65 for redeeming 50,000 or $140 for redeeming 100,000 points or better still you could get $300 by redeeming 200,000. Look out for these redemption events on their flyers.
The Mobile Shop
If you are looking for a new phone then you should check out The Mobile Shop. You can find amazing opportunities to earn a significant amount of points. I was looking for a phone and getting it through The Mobile Shop allowed me to earn 250,000 PC points, that’s $250 by just getting the phone through them instead of going directly through the carrier. Plus, they may be able to get you additional discounts that are not available through the carrier.
How Do I Redeem PC Optimum Points?
As mentioned, you need to have at least 20,000 points to redeem the points and then you can redeem in multiples of 10,000 points. When you have enough points you can ask the cashier to redeem your points during checkout. It’s as easy as that.
I use my PC Financial credit card for everything and earn enough points every month to help pay for a chunk of groceries. In the past 45 days I was able to earn over 400,000 points, that is $400 of savings.
